I had a fantastic stay at Budapest Budget Hostel! The staff was friendly and helpful. They warmly greeted me upon arrival, showed me to my room, and even circled spots of interest on a map. The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the linens were clean. I appreciated that the shared bathroom was well-maintained, with hot water and good pressure in the showers. The hostel was located in a wonderful area, close to main trams and within walking distance of many attractions. I would highly recommend this budget-friendly hostel to anyone visiting Budapest. I had a great experience!

I liked the patio outside the back, and I would definitely say that the front staff is superb (especially Adam who is awesome) except that the one guy on our last night of July 30 woke us up showing the place to people who came in around midnight. Couldn't you wait 'till morning, buddy?

Almost everything else we thought was substandard. This place is expensive compared to other hostels (I checked with 3 after I got there) and careful because prices go up on the weekends. Beds are very uncomfortable, it's noisy at night and the rooms have thin walls. There are kitchen areas but no real common room where people can sit comfortably and socialize. We had to use our own toilet paper as there was none on our floor, and there was no soap to wash dishes. Laundry services were expensive as you are paying 4 euros for very small loads (5 kg), and there's no dryer so our stuff was still wet by morning. The worst is the location. It's simply too far away compared to the other places that are at least as decent so it's not as easy to walk around to places. Overall, I know this place is well reviewed, but honestly we can't see why. There are better options out there, and we left Budapest early because we couldn't get a good night's sleep here.

We stayed in a private double room. It was spacious, with a table and a closet. The staff was great! Very helpful, handed many brochures, made direct reservations for the thermal baths of Budapest... Great stay! Would definitely come back.

The bathroom was alright, however there is no box around the shower. Every time we took a shower, the bathroom became a swamp, so we had to be careful not to slip, and our socks got wet. But very minor issue compared to great price/quality we got out of the 4 night stay!!

The staff were attentive, however not necessarily helpful when it came to more complicated issues such as giving a wake-up call. It was nice to have my own security magnetic key though.

A word of advice: don't go there unless you have no other choice. The hostel is not exactly in or even near the city centre - please check the location on the map before booking a room. The beds in the rooms are incredibly uncomfortable and the staff refused to help me sort out the problem, claiming they were full. I was placed in a room next to the kitchen, which was for one thing not at all well equipped - I.E. no electric kettle or toaster - it was dirty and it was incredibly noisy because of a group of Polish people staying on the same floor. The shower was leaking all the time, so by the end it became more of a pool than a bathroom.

The hostel staff were very helpful and provided great recommendations for our city trip. The location was convenient, near the Danube river and well connected to the city center. We also appreciated the cleanliness of the room, with fresh and comfortable bedding.

The noise from other guests during the early morning hours, which could be disruptive for light sleepers. However, this is not the hostel's fault and can happen in any shared accommodation setting.

The very friendly and helpful staff, who were able to help in every way. A spacious room. Great location for shops, restuarants and transport. The trams were particularly useful. Walking distance to metro. I would definitely stay here again.

The only thing I didn't like was the shower, the shower curtains were too short to keep the water within the shower frame, and as a consequence you often walked into a puddle of water when going to use the toilet in the same shower room. The mops that were left in the shower rooms to clean the floors did not smell particularly good, like most things that are left wet and in a small place. I also found the manners and noise of some of the guests at the time unacceptable but that wasn't a hostel problem.

Everything was good! We have a shower and wc in our room.It was really comfortable not to go out from the room for washing up.Our room was enough big and nice. Also there was some kind of dinner room with frige, plates and other kitchen stuff. The location of hostel is not far from the tram station (over 5 min). So, you can easily get to the center by tram or even go on foot. I'm really like this hostel! Everything really was good!!! Thank you :)

The staff at the hostel were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay much more enjoyable. The kitchen facilities were impressive, allowing us to cook our own meals and save some money. The location of the hostel was also great, with convenient access to nearby attractions and amenities.

The family rooms were not suitable for young children as the mezzanine beds did not have adequate barriers. This caused some concern for us as we worried about our 2-year-old daughter falling.

Being two young backpackers we had a HUGE room to ourselves.. The staff we were really helpfull! Didn't really see anyone when we were there but made some gret friends with the ones we did. Kitchen facilities were fantastic.. Security was definitely not an issue here

Too quiet but it was great really nothing to fault them on

The woman on reception during check-in was very curteous and knowedgeable. Her spoken English was very good and we were not rushed into paying for our stay on the spot; we had arrived at 23:00 and were very tired. She allowed up to pay the next morning. The hostel also has a deal with a local restaurant located just around the corner for breakfast. There are three menu options for the price of 4 EUR. The meal was so-so. We were not overly impressed and decided to eat elsewhere the next morning. I would recommend this hostel as it was very clean and I am very leery about shared accomodations and facilities. It is also in a very accessible part of town, right near a tram stop.

Budget, friendly stay in a quiet neighborhood with helpful staff available at all times. the private room was spacious and well, equipped. the shared kitchen was well, stocked with necessary appliances and even had a balcony. Plus, there was a complimentary PC to use.

Conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and public transport options. Cons: Nothing that I didn't like.

Amazing staff, all 3 I met were incredibly helpful. Large clean rooms.

Our shower kept flooding and we had trouble with the wifi on the first night. After we were moved it worked perfectly.
